The System Architecture Virtual Integration (SAVI) Program is developing a standards-based, open-source process to enable virtual integration of complex systems for the next generation of commercial and military aircraft.
The overall objective for SAVI is to develop capabilities to a level such that this limited Virtual Integration Process (VIP) could be incorporated with manageable risk in a system development program.
SAVI development efforts to date have concentrated on safety analyses, simple fit, and elementary behavior patterns. Current efforts consider integration of a more complete behavior-based example wheel braking system (WBS) and extend behavior analyses to this more realistic WBS. Extensions include “fit” analysis techniques to include consistency checking for wiring harness design and improved automation in assessing wiring harness anomalies early in the design cycle.
